A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol Slot

Wish it could be Christmas every day? Well now it can with this superbly festive slot game from Betsoft, A Christmas Carol.

Based on the popular Charles Dickens tale of the same name, players are transported into Scrooge’s bedroom as he watches the action unfold on the gameboard in front of him. With five reels and 25 paylines to work with, it’s no wonder he’s feeling a little on edge given the prize-winning opportunities on offer.

Don’t Be A Scrooge

Bar the playing cards, the rest of the main game symbols are all items familiar from the classic Christmas Carol story. The first of the other main game symbols is Scrooge’s Bank, and while you won’t want to be banking here (we hear the interest rates are a bit stingy) you will certainly want three, four or five of these appearing on your reels given that they pay 50, 100 and 200 coins respectively.

But those playing cards get us started – and who doesn’t love a game of cards during the festive period? These each pay out in unique denominations as follows:

Ten – Three (5 coins), Four (25 coins), Five (50 coins).

Jack – Three (10 coins), Four (25 coins), Five (75 coins).

Queen – Three (20 coins), Four (50 coins), Five (80 coins).

King – Three (25 coins), Four (60 coins), Five (100 coins).

Ace – Three (40 coins), Four (75 coins), Five (150 coins).

Next up are those Christmas Presents, and these are the gift that keep on giving by rewarding players with 100 coins for matching three, 200 coins for four and 400 coins for five. And then the Gold Coins which pay as generously as their name suggests: 125 coins, 250 coins and 500 coins to be precise.

The shiny Gold Bell is the penultimate main game symbol, and you will have the glorious sounds of victory ringing in your ears if you can spin three (200 coins), four (400 coins) or five (800 coins) of this little beauty, and last but by no means least is Scrooge himself. He must be feeling in a generous mood, and this is certainly the Scrooge we came to know by the end of the fairytale rather than the start. Here he rewards players with prizes of 300 coins, 500 coins and 1,000 coins respectively.

Turkey Time

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a roast turkey, right? In A Christmas Carol it is our poultry pal who takes centre stage as the wild, and not only will this symbol substitute for all others apart from the Ghost features (more on those in a moment), it would also pay at the very handsome rate of 800 coins, 1,200 coins and 2,400 coins for matching three through to five.

Main game wins can be doubled up too courtesy of the Heads or Tails gamble feature. Guess correctly on the flip of a coin and you will bag a 2x multiplier on your prize. Guess incorrectly and all your winnings are stashed back into Scrooge’s bank.

Past, Present and Future

As mentioned, there are three additional bonuses linked to the three famous ghosts that visit Scrooge in the fairytale: the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

In this particular Christmas Carol, each one of these represents a special feature that can be used by players to bag some fantastic prizes. There’s no better place to start than the present, and if you spin three or more of the Christmas Present symbol then all ghosts on your reels will become wild. This feature cannot be played in conjunction with the Past/Future bonuses, but will resume on completion of those.

The Ghost of Christmas Past will reward players with a number of Past Free Spins, which is very generous of him, and three of these will earn players three spins, four earns six spins and five will reward players with 12 free spins. Additional Past and Future freebies can be won from within this feature.

The Ghost of Christmas Future, who is a morbid old soul, pays at the same rate as the Ghost of Christmas Past, and these two features both operate along the same lines.

Festive Fun

With a suitably festive soundtrack and a beautifully snowy setting, it’s no wonder that A Christmas Carol is a popular slot with players at Yuletide and throughout the year.

Backed by those trademark high resolution Betsoft graphics and animations, this is a brilliant game that laughs in the face of its main character’s renowned stinginess with his money to deliver some great payouts. There’s nothing Scrooge-like about it! So if you're feeling generous this Christmas, see if you can clean Scrooge out at Emu Casino or Luckland, two top spots for playing Betsoft games online.
