Responsible gambling company idPair has announced that in August, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, and Tennessee will be the first four states to launch its National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP). With NVSEP, individuals can self-exclude themselves from gambling in multiple states all in one shot.

Users will be able to self-exclude from any or all participating states and types of gambling.

Depending on what is offered in each state, people can exclude themselves from online poker, online casino, sports betting, fantasy sports, and brick-and-mortar casinos. Users will be able to self-exclude from any or all participating states and types of gambling. In its Tuesday announcement, idPair emphasized that the states’ own self-exclusion programs will remain as they are, so people can still use state-run processes and nobody’s current self-exclusion status will change with the launch of NVSEP.

“For the first time ever, individuals seeking a wider level of protection can self-exclude from multiple states in a streamlined fashion,” said Jonathan Aiwazian, CEO of idPair. “While today we announce our ability to provide free assistance with self-exclusion in each of these 4 states, more jurisdictions are on the way, as we accelerate toward our goal of removing barriers for people seeking protection across all gambling jurisdictions and products.”

In April, idPair announced that its initial plan was to launch in New England, so those could be the next states to join the program. Future plans for NVSEP include full integration with gaming operators’ and regulators’ Player Account Management (PAM) systems to increase the speed and efficiency of self-exclusion processing.
